Below are some of the fantastic meetings and events that the CCCC have taken part in:
New Year's Day Meeting - 1St Jan 2010

This popular event has now become a New Year's Day tradition within classic car circles and our new venue at the Frogmill Hotel attracted almost 100 cars. It was a bitterly cold day and those who brought their classic cars along enjoyed a free bowl of soup and a roll. A collection was held in aid of the County Air Ambulance. A great start to what we hope will be a fantastic year for the club.
Club Meeting 1st November
This was the first true club meeting back at the Frogmill and disipte the wet weather we did have a good turn out by members all remarking how good it was to be back.

10th/11th October
Toddington Steam And Vintage weekend
This was a great weekend for CCCC with 49 cars over the two days and the event was only damped by the weather but the spirit of the members was high and all who came enjoyed the numerous displays on offer.

4th October 2009
This day was to mark the return of the club to the Frogmill and was to prove a popular move with almost 80 vintage and classic cars taking part.

Museum Tour 23rd August
A grand day out at the Haynes & Fleet Air Arm Museums the general cencus by those who took up the tour was 'more please' so watch the forth coming events page for simular runs in the future.

Club Meeting 7th August
One of the largest meetings this year so far with many new faces and new cars, 37 in total.
Gloucestershire Steam & Vintage Extravaganza, Kemble 1st,2nd August
A glorious Sunday was greeted with some relief after a wet Saturday and we managed to fill the club stand to bursting point such was the interest.

Club Metting 3rd July
The monthly meetings just keep bringing up surprises and this month was no exception with this 1938 Bentley of Ian Pollard's. History galore with this including it's use by Hermann Goering during the occupation of France in world War 2.

Lister Tyndale Steam Rally
21st June
This rally had something for everyone, from bikes to steam engines and it was also very hands on with people being encoraged to take part.

Filkins village Open day 14th June
This was a late entry into the club calender but was well worth the day out with over 160 like minded classic and vintage car owners gathering to admire and discuss cars all with the back drop of the beautiful Filkins village.

Bishops Cleeve Street fair
Bishops Cleeve 7th June
This was a great day with plenty of interest and stories from members of the public and we went home with sore throats, A must for the calender for next year for all.

The day was packed with things to see and do and the VIP's for the day were 3 Chelsea pensioners helping to celebrate 65years since the landings of D-Day and Rick was very happy to chauffer them from Cheltenham to the event in his 1920's Hupmobile.

Fairford Festival
Fairford village 6th June
This was an invite from the Fairford classic Car Club to join them as part of a weekend of events in Fairford. This was well organised and everyone had a good time with plenty to see and do in the main tent.
5th June Meeting
will say that Chris Baal took the honours this month with this great classic from 1968, a Ford GT40. Spending most of it's life at Gaydon Museum Chris purchased this car 3 years ago from Gaydon and lucky for us he now uses it as it was meant to be used.

Antiques & Collectors Fair
Berkeley Castle 25th May
There was a good diverse selection of vehicles that took the gamble with the weather forecast. It paid off with an afternoon of sunshine and plenty to see and do all under the gaze of Berkeley Castle.
Events during 2009
"Little Vintage"
Cambridge 17th May
Despite the weather we had 8 members turn out on the club stand but the weather proved too much for most and the day finished early which was a great shame.

"Wheel Nuts" Classic Car Show - St. Rose's School, Stroud - 26th April
This was a very well attended show and the weather was kind to us again. An impressive 14 cars from the CCCC took part and we all enjoyed our day out. This was a classic car show at its best and for a very good cause.

Coleford Carnival of Transport
13th April
This was the Club's first major show of the season and we were greeted with sunny weather all day. A total of 12 fine classic cars graced our club stand and an enjoyable time was had by all.

This show was a great start to the season, with a full program of events to follow throughout the year.
Meeting at the "Reservoir" 1st March
A pleasant day brought out the classic cars in force! Around 34 fine classic cars were in attendance and an enjoyable time was had by all.
One of the surprises was this 1953 Vauxhall Wyvern Pickup, that was imported in 2005 after a hard working life in Australia. I bet if this vehicle could speak it could tell a story or two!

Meeting at the "Reservoir" 1st February
This was an excellent meeting with an attendance of at least 30 people. The stars of the show in many ways were these two Fiats.

Also a 1954 Standard 8 and a 1958 Standard 10 came along to keep Richard's 1955 Standard 10 company.

Pictured with their cars are Rob, Rebecca, Martin and Richard

Well known in Morris Minor circles is our old friend John Underhay, showing off his newly acquired Minor Saloon (complete with a nasty oil leak!)
Meeting at the "Reservoir" 4th January
Despite a bitterly cold day we had a good turnout and new people to meet. Mike Jones brought along his rare 1961 Vauxhall Victor Estate and Andy from my VW club brought along his very nice 1964 VW Beetle, which he kept very original when he recently restored this car himself. A photo of this car is now included in the "club cars" section. We also saw a very nice TR6 which came from Witney.

New Year's Day Classic Car Meeting at the King's Head, Norton
What can I say! This was the second year of the CCCC holding this event and it has already established itself as a New Year's tradition. Fine classic cars arrived from a wide area and soon the car park was full to capacity. Everyone enjoyed a friendly chat, enjoyed looking at the wide variety of classic cars on display and also sampled the fine food and ales from the King's Head pub.
Here are some overviews of the cars on display:

Events during 2008
What the CCCC is all about
Last Saturday Jeff handed me a photo that he took of this happy group of CCCC members meeting up at a layby on the way to the Sudeley Castle Classic Car Show.
It makes us look forward to more great club events, when the better weather arrives in the Spring.

Club Meeting at the "Reservoir on 2nd November
Despite a very wet and foggy day, a good number of members turned up at the Reservoir for a friendly drink and chat.
The weather kept most of the fine classics tucked up warm and dry in their garages. However a few braved the elements, including Richard's newly acquired Ford Escort XR3i.

Here is the XR3i next to John and Gordon's trusty Morris Minors.
Also present were Peter and Karen's Reliant Scimitar and John and Mary's Triumph Stag.
Skittles Evening with the Wubblers Dub Club
Despite being a wet and windy evening, a team of CCCC bowlers turned out for a most enjoyable skittles match against the local VW club in Gloucester. Those playing were Shaun, Michelle, Peter, Karen, Gordon, Jeff, Dave, Carol and myself (Richard).
A great time was had by all.
Steam & Vintage Rally, Cheltenham Race Course - 11th and 12th October
This excellent show was very well supported by the CCCC, with an different selection of interesting classic cars on both days. To top it all the weather was "made to order".

Here is Tony's delightful Austin Mini Mk 1 heading up the CCCC display on the Sunday.
Broadway Tower re-visited
For the benefit of those who missed the view from Broadway Tower picnic area, here is what it looks like on a fine day. Carole and I took the Minor on the same route again and really enjoyed it.

Bredon Vintage & Classic Car Rally - Sunday 7th September
The rain held off for this excellent event and was well supported by the CCCC. Those who attended were Gordon with his Minor Traveller, Tony and Betty with their Mini, Peter and Karen with their Scimitar, Jeff with his BSA 650cc Motorcycle, Dave Evans + family in his modern car and myself (Richard) with the first mixed classic car show appearance of "Tirpitz", the battleship grey VW 1303 Beetle.
Here is an undented and polished Tirpitz next to a very nice Mini Clubman Estate:

This car was purchased just over 2 years ago for £200 as part of the CCCC "econony classic range"!
Club picnic at Broadway Tower - Sunday 31st August
The more hardy of the CCCC members braved a rainy day to take part in an excellent scenic drive from the "Reservoir" to Broadway Tower. The route took us through Winchcombe, Broadway, Willersey, Aston Subedge and Chipping Campden. The rain pretty well held off for most of the journey, but when we got to Broadway Tower Country Park we were surrounded by heavy mist! It was a pity, as I'm told the views are normally fantastic, but we all enjoyed our picnic none the less.
Here is a misty picture of the CCCC lineup.

Those taking part (from left to right) were John and Vera in the Minor, Gordon in the Minor Traveller, Peter and Karen in the Scimitar, Tony and Betty in the Mini and Carole and myself (Richard) in the white Minor. Thank you to Gordon for organising an excellent event.
Gloucester Classic Car and Bike Show - 24th August
The CCCC turned out in force to support this show at the Glos. Multiple Sclerosis Information and Therapy Centre, with the proceeds going to the MS charity. The CCCC lineup included Jeff with his MG TD, Roy with his PA Velox, Keith with his Minor Saloon, Alan with his Mayflower, Jack with his Zephyr Zodiac, Eddy with his MGB and my own trusty Standard 10.

Charity fun day at Sudeley Castle
17th August
This was another impressive turn-out of CCCC members, who enjoyed an excellent day out in a magnificant Cotswold setting. There was something for everyone, from an excellent display of classic cars, to craft stalls and live entertainment. On top of this there was, of course, Sudeley Castle itself. Even the weather was on our side and after a heavy shower in the morning, the sun came out to greet us for the afternoon.
Here is a photo of the CCCC line-up:

Kemble Steam and Vintage Extravaganza - 1st to 3rd August
This show was a "first" for the CCCC and to my mind was one of the best of its kind anywhere in the Country. Thank you to Shaun and Michelle for organising it.
There was something for everyone on display, from hundreds of classic cars, steam engines, steam lorries (the most I have ever seen), tractors, motorcycles and being an airfield, a display of aircraft as well. I was amazed at how fast some of these steam driven machines could drive around the runway tarmac.
On both days there was a good CCCC lineup of a variey of fine classic cars.
The more hardy CCCC members camped on site for the entire weekend, including Dave, Karen, Shaun and Michelle.
Here is part of the CCCC lineup on the Sunday:

Stroud "Wheel Nuts" Show - 11th May
Once again this was a fantastic event with the CCCC displaying a record 15 cars.
Somehow, Richard managed to get down 3 of his own cars!

Just look at Alan Holford's fantastic Triumph Mayflower and Jack Price's Mk 1 Zodiac. Sheer class!
One of the best shows of the season, in my opinion and for a very good cause.
Classic Car "Drive it" day tour of Herefordshire
Members of the CCCC were guests of the Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC)for an excellent tour of Herefordshire. We started out from Labels at Ross on Wye and headed towards Hereford, where we enjoyed coffee by the riverside. We then headed in the general direction of Hay on Wye and then meandered back again taking in lunch at the Pandy Inn at Dorstone. On the way we encountered a flooded section of road and somehow managed to lose Karen and Dave in their red TR4! Altogether an excellent day out and we wish to thank Jane Rowley of the TSSC for organising it.

Coleford Carnival of Transport on Monday 24th March.
This was a very successful day for the club with 13 quality classic cars on display, all of different makes. It made turning out on a bitterly cold day very worthwhile.
Thank you for your participation in this excellent event and for presenting your cars so well.
Here are some photos of our club stand:

Regular Club Meeting at the Hungry Horse on Sunday 3rd February
Despite it being a bitterly cold day we enjoyed a record turn-out for this time of year, with plenty of new people to talk to and fantastic cars to enjoy.

Just look at this beautiful Humber! Also, we had no less than 5 Morris Minors there. It would have been 6 if I had brought mine along instead of my Riley Elf!
Regular Club Meeting at the Hungry Horse on Sunday 6th January
Here is the club lineup on this cold Sunday lunchtime

Following the meeting we drove down to the "Owl" at Charlton Kings, where we all warmed up and enjoyed a drink and a chat. We will have to do this again.
New Year's Day meeting at the King's Head, Norton
This was the Club's first New Year Meeting and it was a great success. We attracted somewhere in the region of 50 to 60 cars, many of which we had not seen before.

Events during 2007
Stroud "Wheel Nuts" show
On Sunday 29th April 2007 our club members took part in the Stroud "Wheel Nuts" Classic Car Show, which in it's 3rd year attracted a record 500 entries.
In true club tradition we were able to provide a wide selection of excellent classic cars as can be seen in the photographs below:

At this show we saw for the first time Shaun and Michelle Walsh's newly restored 1973 MG Midget, which gleamed in its new Teal Blue paintwork. This is a highly original car and Shaun completed its restoration in only a few months!
This is the most desirable of the MG Midgets as it is the RWA version (round wheel arches). Also it has the chrome bumpers and the 1275 cc "A" series engine. Soon afterwards the Midget was equipped with rubber bumpers to meet the demands of the American market and a 1500 cc Triumph engine from the Spitfire. A Triumph engine in a MG, what next!
The car is photographed in the "Club Cars" section of this web site, but I have included here a view of the interior, which is in amazing original condition.

All I can say is that I want one of these cars as well! - Richard
Coleford Carnival of Transport
On Monday 9th April 2007 our club members met up at the King's Head in Birdwood and drove in convoy to Coleford to take part in their Carnival of Transport. We were allocated an excellent plot where our cars could be displayed to their full advantage.
Here are some pictures of our club stand:

Mad March Tour Report
On Saturday 24th March 2007 we took part in a 50 mile drive through the finest scenery the Forest of Dean could offer. On completion of the tour we enjoyed a good meal and stimulating conversation in the Kings's Head.
Thank you to Karen and Dave for organising such an excellent event.

These are some of the super classic cars leaving the Kings Head at the start of the tour

This is Jack's splendid 1955 Mk1 Ford Zephyr Zodiac

Richard and Carole Bradley starting the tour in their 1974 Volkswagen 1303 Beetle.
This is a good example of how classic motoring need not be expensive, as this car was purchased last summer for only £200! Does anyone know of a good panel beater?
These air-cooled engined cars are renowned for their reliability and this car has recently completed a 574 mile tour of Cornwall. They are great fun to drive and always put a smile on your face!

Jane's 1965 Triumph Herald

This is classic motoring at it's finest. A superb 1932 Alvis 12/60 Tourer
